Hi I’m Amber. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and I work with individuals, couples and families. I earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Northern Iowa in Family Studies and Women’s Studies. I attended graduate school at Iowa State University where I received a Master’s of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. I’ve been practicing therapy since 2006 and have been in private practice since 2013. I am a Clinical Fellow in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a Certified EMDR Therapist.

Over the years I have had a variety of roles in my clinical experience. I started my journey in the helping professions working at a shelter for women and children, answering a crisis line and working a 24-hour on-call program for victims of sexual assault. During my college years I worked at the Iowa State Child Development Lab where I used my degree in Human Development to help teach undergraduate students how to work effectively with small children. It was also during this time that I began seeing clients as a student therapist at the Iowa State Clinic. After graduate school, I became the lead therapist for an in-patient treatment facility for children with drug and alcohol addictions and co-occurring mental health disorders. I later went on to work as a psychotherapist at a community mental health center where I worked until I went into private practice in 2013.

It has been my absolute joy to run my own practice since that time. I am so grateful for the clients that have allowed me into their lives throughout my career. It takes courage to ask for help and I honor you for making it this far. I can't wait to hear your story and help you write the next chapter.

Hi I’m Maisy. I am a Yorkie puppy and will instantly assume you are my new best friend! I joined the practice in March of 2025 and can’t wait to meet you.

When I sense that people are feeling sad or overwhelmed, I will come over to you so you can pet me. Sometimes it helps just to have someone to hug. I especially love to lay on the couch and cuddle with you too.

While I love attention, I respect your boundaries and am happy to just lay on the floor if you need some space. As you can see, I take my job, and my naps, very seriously. So it’s up to you if you want to interact. My love is unconditional!
